News and Views

My posting should be much more regular from now on. Well, here goes for today's MLS news.

The Clean Sheet: Crossing the line Interesting. I'm not sure where I stand on the idea of having a way to know for sure whether a goal is a goal. On the one hand, I stand for truth and justice, and therefore would be in favor of some such mechanism/ruling. The concept is a good one. However, on the other hand, I detest anything that would detract from the purity of the game and/or slow down the smoothness and speed play. (For example, the instant replays to which the NFL refs can refer.) Basically, MLS and FIFA had better consider the whole proposal very carefully!

Playing for Ellinger key for Mathis Mathis is back to MLS, this time to Real Salt Lake. (Funny, isn't it? My first inclination was to simply write "Real," but then I realized that when I say that, it is usually in reference to Real Madrid. I need to start being specific!)
